World Number one, Caroline Woznizcki is out in 1st round of the tournament, as the former world No.1, Serena Williams has withdrawn from this Cincinnati Masters on Wednesday, due to a right toe injury.
Top seeded player, Caroline Wozniacki has suffered another early defeat on Wednesday, after she has been snatched out by another American teenager Christina Mchale in straight sets with a score line of 6-4, 7-5 in one hour and 57 minutes of play.
While, other seeded players knocked out in the second round of the tournament are, Ana Ivanovic and Yanina Wickmayer.
2nd Seed, Vera Zvonareva has attained an easy victory against Russian, Ekaterina Makarova with 6-3 and 6-0 to march into the third round of the Cincinnati Masters.
Francesca Schiavone has overcame against the Russian Maria Kirilenko in a 3 set thriller with 7-5 3-6 6-4 and 14th seed and two time major champion Svetlana Kuznetsova recovered from a bad start to beat Petra Cetkovska 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a battle that lasted 2 hours and 3 minutes.
Other seeded player entered into the third round are Andrea Petkovic, Andrea Petkovic, Jelena Jankovic, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Nadia Petrova, Peng Shuai, Petra Martic, Daniela Hantuchova, and Shahar Peer.
3rd seeded Victoria Azarenka has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open due to a right hand strain, and last week Rogers Cup champion Serena Williams also pulled out of the tournament because of a to injury.
